The panel will be chaired by Representative Loudermilk of Georgia.
The House of Representatives voted to establish a select subcommittee under its Judiciary Committee that will reinvestigate events surrounding January 6, 2021. Representative Barry Loudermilk of Georgia, who headed a similar panel in the previous Congress under the House Administration Committee, will be chairing the subcommittee.
Congressman Loudermilk stated after the vote, “I want to be able to get to the truth, find out where the failures were, and let’s fix them. That’s all we’re asking.”
The resolution instructs the subcommittee to publish a final report by the end of the 119th Congress.
Representative Loudermilk said he would like more information as to why calling in the National Guard to assist law enforcement was delayed. He also intends to further investigate the informants the FBI has confirmed were among the protestors and the lack of response by intelligence agencies to warnings of potential unrest.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chairman Loudermilk to seek God’s direction as he heads the reinvestigation into the events of January 6, 2021.
- For the members of the subcommittee to conduct their probe with honesty and integrity.
